Consider the view outside the window when choosing Roman shades. For instance, if the view outside is scenic and beautiful, you might choose a plain, sheer, light colored fabric. If the view outside is one you don't care to look at, like a brick wall, you might choose an opaque fabric in a darker color or a rougher texture. For an extra charge, Roman shades can be installed as bottom up/top down shades, which bring you the ultimate flexibility in providing privacy with a view.
